Bobbi Ausubel, MFA, RDT
Bobbi Ausubel currently works as a Drama Therapist in India with women in prostitution and children vulnerable to sex trafficking, with cancer patients through San Francisco General Hospital's Araceli Theater and leads girls' and women's empowerment events across the country and globe through That Takes Ovaries. In addition she is directing plays in San Francisco and works with children in the schools. She was for 12 years co-director of Caravan Theater, Cambridge MA, performing original and classical works; for 15 years was a faculty member of The Boston Conservatory and chair of the Theater Division for several of those years. Bobbi used drama therapy structures and personal stories to develop new scripts and invented structures using the actors' child characters as a way into finding their spontaneous Self and connection to freeing body, voice and emotions as part of their acting training. Drama Therapy became part of her repertoire in working in community settings with children and teachers in schools, unions, parent education groups, and organizations. She taught Emotional Intelligence to county employees in San Mateo, CA.
Bobbi gained certification as an RDT through the Transpersonal Drama Therapy Certificate Program under the guidance and mentoring of Saphira Linden and Penny Lewis.
